Should there be a required number of supervision hours prior to or in complement with the CBMT exam? What would be the purpose and/or function of such supervision? What standards would be set for supervision to qualify as “supervision”?

If required supervision were to be instituted, would supervisors have to be music therapists or would there be allowances for cross-discipline supervisors?

1) What were your impressions of the CBMT exam’s content?

2) Are there areas of practice that you believe should be covered in greater depth? If so, what are they?

3) How do you feel about the Exam that you took (there are a few in circulation at any one time) being a reflection of the “knowledge” base required to be granted certification as a health care professional?

I’ve been restating these in a single, condensed idea: To what extent do we/do we not feel the exam (given its format and content) measures initial competence as an MT?
